Medical artefacts on display
Updated on 20 June 2007
A velvet chastity belt, Florance Nightingale's slippers and a used guillotine: hardly the normal fare of science text books.
But these and 500 other curiosities have just gone on display at the Wellcome Trust.
All drawn from the pharmacist Henry Wellcome's collection of a million objects - they're supposed to illustrate society's understanding of health, medicine and wellbeing, and celebrate the work of the medical research charity.
