ISPs join forces, but can they stop the illegal downloading?

Six million Britons download music illegally yearly. ISPs agree to write letters to those found doing this.
It's a crime committed by more than six million Britons a year. But until now there's been no effective way of tracing and punishing those who illegally download music or films from the internet.
The UK's six largest internet service providers have joined forces with the music industry to clamp down on the practice, which costs artists and their record companies around £1bn each year.
It's being hailed as a world first solution but initial details of the plan have critics wondering if it will be enough to deter avid file-sharers?
