Graveless war soldiers reburied

Victims of the First World War's Battle of Fromelles are being reburied with military honours, and attempts are also underway to identify living relatives. Helen Cacace reports.

For over 90 years, 400 British and Australian soldiers have lain undisturbed in a hidden mass grave - until now.

The men were victims of the Battle of Fromelles in the First World War, and were counted among the hundreds of thousands who were missing with no known grave.

Now the remains are being reburied with military honours, and attempts are being made to identify living relatives using DNA samples. 

It's an audacious project. But at a cost of millions, is it worth doing ?
