Fossils place early man in Spain

The teeth and jawbone of what could be the earliest man to have lived in western Europe are discovered by scientists in Spain.

The fossils - over 1m years old - were unearthed alongside tools and animal remains and are thought to be the most accurately dated evidence of the human occupation of Europe but dating such sites remains controversial.
