Facebook would sell for $10m

Updated on 25 July 2007

By Channel 4 News

Facebook would consider selling up for £5bn, one of its directors has revealed.

But any such sale of the social networking site is not expected for at least 18 months.

Director Mr Thiel said: "If we got an offer from someone of $10bn, we would probably listen to them."

Mr Thiel said Facebook was in no hurry to sell - and had no preference in terms of a buy-out or stock market listing.

Facebook is expected to earn £75m from advertising in 2007 alone.
