Ending the ban on gay blood donors?

The ban on gay men giving blood is reconsidered. Should gay men have the right to give blood? More4 News reports.

The ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood may be lifted.

With the national blood service facing a shortage due to the swine flu pandemic, the government's advisory committee on the safety of blood, tissue and organs  is considering the existing policy of excluding 'high risk' donors.

Currently any man who has had sex with another man is banned from giving blood for life, as Helene Cacace reports.
