Censors anger Wikipedia users

Updated on 08 December 2008

By Benjamin Cohen

A 30-year-old album cover has been pulled from Wikipedia, stopping most UK users from editing any pages.

A number of British internet providers blocked the Wikipedia page after the online watchdog described it as a potentially illegal image of child sexual abuse.

But its removal means thousands of people have been left unable to edit any of the encylopedia's pages - where normally practically anyone is allowed to change entries.

Jimmy Wales speaks out
