MP: 'I understand public anger'

As more evidence of MPs expenses is released, one of the Cabinet ministers at the centre of criticism says she understands why the public hate the current rules.

But Community Secretary Hazel Blears said she had complied with those rules, which allowed her to avoid capital gains tax on the sale of her property in Kennington, London. 

MPs will be hoping to ease the public anger towards the revelations about politicians' use of taxpayers' money when a new audit unit to oversee MPs' expenses is introduced tomorrow.
