Zuma set for victory

Jacob Zuma is widely expected to be voted in as South Africa's next president.

A big turnout will strengthen his authority, and 23 million people are eligible to vote.

Zuma's ruling African National Congress looks set to win its fourth term in parliament since it defeated white minority rule 15 years ago under Nelson Mandela.

But opposition parties are hoping to cut the ANC's majority, picking up support from voters disillusioned by corruption allegations, increasing crime and poverty.
