Zimbabwe's Mugabe and Tsvangirai sign power-sharing deal in Harare

Under the deal President Mugabe will relinquish some of his powers for the first time.

Zimbabwe's rival parties have signed an historic power-sharing deal which means President Mugabe giving up some of his powers for the first time in his 30-year rule.

Mugabe signed the agreement with the opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai at a hotel in Harare after weeks of complex negotiations.

Under the deal, Tsvangirai will become prime minister while other cabinet seats will be split betwen the parties.
