Weapon handover deadline extended

The Iraqi government extends the deadline for Shia militiamen to hand over their weapons.

The government launched its offensive against the Mahdi army in Basra on Tuesday.

Government forces fighting Shia militia in Iraq's second city of Basra say they've killed 120 and wounded over 450 of the enemy.
