'We gave US al-Qaida suspects'

Defence Secretary John Hutton admits that Britain was, after all, involved in the process of 'extraordinary rendition'.
In a statement to MPs he clarified earlier claims that Britain was not involved in the practice of handing over terror suspects to the US to be flown to another country for interrogation.
He admitted that two al-Qaida suspects were handed over by Britain to the US, who then took them to Bagram airbase in Afghanistan.
He apologised to MPs for the error. The transfer "should have been questioned at the time," Hutton said.
