US embassy heads for the sticks

Security fears force the US embassy to consider a move from Grosvenor Square to the suburbs.
For sale: one embassy. Central location. May be in need of some refurbishment.
America has had its base in Grosvenor Square in London for more than 200 years.
But since 11 September attacks and the invasion of Iraq it has become a terrorist target. Its Mayfair address is no longer suitable.
The US embassy is now considering a move to the suburbs, where it can build a more modern and secure headquarters.
And American embassies around the world are building their defences rather than opening their doors.
