UK MPs meet Sri Lankans fleeing war
Updated on 04 May 2009
A group of British MPs, including the defence secretary, Des Browne, are in Sri Lanka to visit some of the thousands of civilians forced to flee fierce fighting in the north.

Britain is leading calls for a ceasefire between government and rebel Tamil Tigers to allow around 10,000 people trapped inside the war zone to escape.
Foreign correspondents are not allowed into the area but the Sri Lankan authorities have taken our Asia correspondent Nick Paton Walsh to a rehabilitation camp in Ambepussa, west of the capital Colombo, where he met young people apparently forced to fight with the Tamil Tigers.
