Tsvangirai to pull out of run-off?

By Keme Nzerem

Updated on 20 June 2008

Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai could pull out of next week's run-off presidential election against Robert Mugabe.

The news comes in the wake of increasing attacks on activists and supporters of Mr Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change by militia from the ruling Zanu PF party.

African leaders have begun to join the west in warning that the election could not be regarded as free or fair against such a background.
