More4 News talks to the US serviceman claiming political asylum in Germany because he refuses to take part in a war he says is illegal.
When you think of an asylum seeker in Europe, you probably imagine someone from an impoverished war zone or repressive regime in Africa or Asia - from Zimbabwe perhaps, or Iran.
But next week a court in Germany will begin hearing an unusual application, with the potential to upset Germany's relations with the USA.
Samantha Haque went to southern Germany to meet the would-be refugee.
