That’s amore? Silvio casts shadow over G8
Updated on 07 July 2009
As leaders of the world's richest countries descend on the Italian city of L'Aquila for tomorrow's G8 summit, the host's messy personal life is threatening to intrude on proceedings.

Three female academics are appealing to the leaders' wives to stay away because of what they see as Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's "offensive" attitude to women.
Berlusconi has been forced to deny his estranged wife's claims that he had a relationship with an 18-year-old.
He will not have a first lady with him in L'Aquila, but has solved the problem by drafting in his equal opportunities minister, a former topless model.
