Tensions rise as ceasefire ends

Jonathan Miller reports from Goma as the three-day ceasefire between government and rebel troops comes to an end. With additional reporting from Jane Dodge

After another day of frantic diplomatic efforts, aid agencies say the refugee situation is deteriorating as thousands of people remain on the move to escape the violence, in search of food and water.

Britain and France are leading international attempts for peace, and after a two-day visit to the region have called for urgent action.

Jane Dodge reports on the continuing struggle of refugees, and whether diplomacy has any chance of bringing a swift end to the crisis.



After a day of frantic diplomatic efforts, aid agencies say the refugee situation is deteriorating as thousands of people flee their homes for safety.

But as foreign correspondent Jonathan Miller reports, despite the uncertainty, people are taking the risk to try to return to their homes.
