China warns Tibetans to stop protesting by midnight on Monday or face a harsh response.

China has warned demonstrators in the Tibetan capital Lhasa to stop protesting by midnight on Monday - or face a harsh response.

The authorities say 10 people died in violence yesterday.

But international pressure is growing on Beijing to show restraint. And Tibetan exiles say the world should not allow China to host the Olympics if the clashes continue.

There has been a heavy security presence on the streets of Lhasa - most people have stayed inside. But the violence has now spread beyond Tibet.
