An upsurge in fighting in war-ravaged Somalia has triggered a food shortage affecting 2.6 million people.

It has already been called the worst humanitarian crisis in Africa. And now the United Nations says the situation in Somalia is about to get much worse, with vast swathes of the country just a step away from famine.

Somalia has been without a proper government since 1992. But an upsurge in fighting has helped to trigger a catastrophic food shortage affecting 2.6 million people.

Last week Channel 4 News sent a cameraman to a clinic for malnourished children on the edge of Mogadishu.
