Snowmail: Georgian forces withdraw from South Ossetia

Samira here. We're on at 6.45pm tonight.
We should have reports from inside the conflict zone in South Ossetia tonight, as we try to get a fuller picture of the scale of casualties. Georgian forces have withdrawn from the region, allegedly under the strength of the Russian assault.
And we're keeping a close eye on events in Zimbabwe, where Morgan Tsvangirai and President Robert Mugabe remain locked in talks that could bring about a power-sharing deal. It could be our lead if there's a breakthrough.
Plus Alex reports from Beijing where 25-year-old Nicole Cooke has secured Britain's first gold (and the first gold for Wales in 36 years) with a fabulous performance in the women's cycling road race.
