Protests break out across Iraq demanding the release of the journalist who threw his shoes at President Bush during his last visit to Baghdad.

There have been protests across Iraq today calling for the release of Muntazer al-Zaidi, the journalist who threw his shoes at President Bush at a news conference yesterday.

He's in detention, accused of insulting the state, but in the eyes of many Arabs he's a hero.

Mr Bush himself tried to shrug off the incident, which has somewhat overshadowed his farewell tour.
