PM calls for hostage release

Gordon Brown has called for the release of five British hostages who were kidnapped in Iraq six months ago.

The prime minister said it wouldn't change government policy and there would be no early withdrawal of British troops.

But there's been more action in Afghanistan where British forces are part a major assault on a Taliban stronghold in the south.
