Palin 'not ready' to take charge

'Adequate but no genius.' That's the verdict on John McCain's running mate according to one of the party's most senior supporters.
That was the remarkably frank assessment from one of her party's most senior supporters.
Former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger said given enough time, Sarah Palin would be "adequate" but, he added, "I can't say she would be a genius in the job."
John McCain insisted his running mate had more experience than both his Democratic rivals put together. But a New York Times poll out today says 59 per cent of people think Palin is not prepared to be vice president.
