Amid this week's tensions over the 42-day vote in parliament, yet another poll suggests the Labour party and its leader are in free fall.
One name conjured up as a possible successor is the Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
This week he was on a peace mission to the Middle East - a mission itself curtailed by the Westminster vote.
It was the Israel end of Mr Miliband's visit that was lost to the early return but he said, he would get back there in the near future.
