Obama to begin 'remaking America'

The new president will be in the White House to oversee progress on both his domestic and international agendas this morning.

Barack Obama is already set to take urgent action on his task of "remaking America", meeting military commanders and possibly naming a new Middle East envoy.

But he could be excused a slightly later start than normal after an inaugural night of parties into the early hours.
