New American war on drugs

US officials are fighting fresh drug wars, now spilling over the border from Mexico into America's heartland, Arizona.

It is the new war on drugs - right in America's backyard.

The state of Arizona has now become the kidnap capital of the United States, as a wave of violence linked to the drug wars in Mexico, sweeps across the border.

Arizona shares a 400-mile frontier with Mexico and officials are determined to get serious about security.
