Mark Pearson's images and films provide the first detailed snapshot of Burma in the aftermath of cyclone Nargis.
Some of the villages Mark Pearson visited are suffering from post-traumatic chaos, and aid will be needed in many areas for months to come.
Vast tent cities have been erected for survivors.
Burma's military junta had sought to impose total control over aid operations. And three months on, the United Nations says recovery assistance remains a challenge.
The best that can be said is that things are not as bad as some had feared.
