Lebanon rockets hit Israel
Updated on 17 June 2007
Rockets are fired into northern Israel from Lebanon, the first since last summer's war between Israel and Hezbollah.
It comes just hours after the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas swore in a new emergency government that excludes Hamas.
A Lebanese security source and an aide to the Israeli prime minister blamed Palestinian militants for the attacks near the town of Kiryat Shemona.
Earlier, Hamas said that Alan Johnston, the BBC journalist seized in Gaza three months ago, would be freed within hours.
But tonight the Army of Islam, which is holding the journalist, said no deal to release him has been agreed.
