Is the Prime Minister wishing John Prescott was still Labour's Deputy Leader? Mr Prescott may have created the odd political headache here and there, punched the occasional voter, but the campaign to replace him has lead to a migraine-inducing succession of troubles for the PM.

Today Alan Johnson, the Health Secretary, woke up to headlines which said his campaign had received £3,000 from a man who was donating it on behalf of his brother. Now you're not supposed to do that. Mr Johnson says his team carried out all the checks they were required to do and more. Kenya clashes kill 10 =====================

At least ten more people have been killed in Kenya, just as the former UN secretary general Kofi Annan tries to find a way out of the county's current turmoil.

Barack the builder? ===================

In the US primaries Barack Obama has carried South Carolina and then some. It was a landslide. Hillary Clinton has a fight on her hands. John Edwards has a failing campaign on his hands.
