Israel warns Gaza faces 'disaster'

Israeli troops have killed at least 46 Palestinians in fierce battles in Gaza.
Hospital staff said many of the dead were civilians, including children.
The clashes with Palestinian gunmen broke out after Israel's deepest incursion into the territory since troops withdrew in 2005.
Scores of Palestinians have died in four days of intensive air strikes and raids. Israel said it was responding to rocket attacks across its border.
