Israel rejects Gaza peace calls

Israel declares that the time "is not right'" for a ceasefire in the Gaza strip.
The Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, rejected international calls for a 48-hour truce to allow in more humanitarian aid.
He did not rule out a ceasefire in the future, but in the meantime Israel has launched more air strikes on the Palestinian territory, while Hamas rockets landed deep into southern Israel.
