Israel lifts fuel blockade of Gaza, allowing industrial diesel, cooking gas, food and medicine across the border.

However, the Israeli Prime Minister said the long-term easing of restrictions depended on Hamas ending its rocket attacks.

Punishment blockade

Israel shut its border crossings with Gaza after a series of attacks, but it has been accused by the EU of the collective punishment of Palestinian civilians.

Yesterday, the fuel blockade led to bakeries and petrol stations closing and hospitals relying on generators.
