Israel 'close to Gaza goal'

Prime minister Ehud Olmert has admitted Israel is close to achieving its military goals in Gaza.
But there was no let up in the fighting today and there is no indication that the campaign in drawing to an end.
Medical officials said at least 29 Palestinians have been killed today.
In the Sheikh Ajleen neighbourhood on the edge of Gaza City at least 12 people were killed.
In Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza four women and a man were killed by tank shelling.
Twenty rockets were fired into Israel, that's less than there have been in recent days.
Two rockets hit the Israeli city of Beersheba and another hit the town of Sderot. No one was killed.
The Palestinian death toll now stands at 874. Thirteen Israelis, including 10 soldiers, have been killed.
