Iraq 'open for business'

Speaking alongside the Iraqi prime minister in London on the day British troops formally end combat operations in Iraq, Gordon Brown insists the mission has been a success.

Both men were keen to emphasize that Iraq is now open for business.

The pullout comes after more than six years and the loss of 179 British personnel, who have been remembered in a ceremony at their base in the southern Iraqi city of Basra.
