Iran planning an atomic bomb?

Iran's nuclear enrichment plans could lay the basis for the production of an atomic bomb.

Raising the stakes - and defying sanctions. Iran has now set up more than 300 centrifuges in its underground nuclear plant, laying the basis for full-scale uranium enrichment.

European diplomats have said the Iranians eventually plan to have 3,000 centrifuges - enough in theory to produce the ingredients for an atomic bomb.

So far there has been no official word from Tehran.

But the threat of further UN sanctions, and even military force, doesn't seem to be worrying ordinary Iranians. Their mood remains defiant.
