Protesters around the world have been marking the nineteenth anniversary of China's brutal crackdown on pro-democracy activists in Tiananmen Square.
No vigils are allowed in mainland China, but in Hong Kong flowers were laid to remember the victims.
In Tiananmen Square itself, policemen kept a close watch on crowds to make sure there was no trouble at the daily flag-raising ceremony.
With the Beijing Olympics now just weeks away, China's current human rights record is again in the spotlight.
