On the nineteenth anniversary of the Tiananmen crackdown, China is declaring its political dissidents "criminally insane".

Protesters around the world have been marking the nineteenth anniversary of China's brutal crackdown on pro-democracy activists in Tiananmen Square.

No vigils are allowed in mainland China, but in Hong Kong flowers were laid to remember the victims.

In Tiananmen Square itself, policemen kept a close watch on crowds to make sure there was no trouble at the daily flag-raising ceremony.

With the Beijing Olympics now just weeks away, China's current human rights record is again in the spotlight.

In this exclusive report, reveals how the government is silencing political dissidents by declaring them "criminally insane" and locking them up without trial.
