Republican contenders John McCain and Mitt Romney go head to head in the race for the Florida primary.
Florida is the state that could decide the Republican frontrunner in the race for the White House. And as its voters take part in their primary today, things are still incredibly close.
Veteran senator John McCain has a wafer-thin lead over former governor Mitt Romney, while Rudy Giuliani, who pinned all his hopes on winning here, is trailing a dismal third.
But as our Washington correspondent Sarah Smith reports, the sunshine state has bigger problems.
It is already in the grip of economic downturn, making it the hottest political issue in the presidential race.
