End of the road for Australian PM?

After 11 years in power for Australian Prime Minister John Howard, it could be all over after this weekend's general election.

He stood shoulder to shoulder with Blair and Bush, but the coalition of the willing could lose another member this weekend.

11 years of power

Eleven years is a long time in politics... so no wonder then that Australians have grown used to having John Howard as prime minister.

But time could be running out for the Conservative leader. This weekend's election could usher in a new political epoch in Australia with rival Kevin Rudd hot on the campaign trail.
