Dead remembered as UK leaves Iraq

British troops today formally end combat operations in Iraq after more than six years.

The pullout has been marked with a ceremony the southern Iraqi city of Basra to remember the 179 British personnel who have died in the country.

Speaking alongside the Iraqi prime minister in London, Gordon Brown insisted the mission had been a success.
