Three Croat generals go on trial in the Hague for war crimes committed against Krajina Serbs in the early 90s. Rags Martel reports.

Echoes of a recent bloody past were felt in the Hague today when three Croatian former generals, including Ante Gotovina, went on trial at the UN war crimes tribunal.

They are accused of crimes against humanity in the Balkans wars of the early 90s - and this time it was Serbs who were the victims, not the aggressors.

Thousands of Krajina Serbs were displaced or killed by militia groups acting - officially or unoffically - for the Craotian government of Franjo Tudjman.
