Crash a 'perfect hit', MDC says

By Sally Gould

Updated on 07 March 2009

Zimbabwe's prime minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, has left hospital after being treated following the car crash that injured him and killed his wife Susan.

His MDC party said it would conduct its own investigation into the crash, as one spokesman called it "a perfect organised hit" designed to "eliminate" Tsvangirai.

Last night, the prime minister had a bedside visit from his old rival, President Mugabe, who called the accident a "tragic blow".
