Cholera sweeps across Zimbabwe
Updated on 26 November 2008
Jon Snow interviews International Development Secretary Douglas Alexander about the cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe.
It's not just an epidemic, it's a pandemic, cholera is sweeping across Zimbabwe.
By yesterday, the United Nations reckoned there were almost 9,000 cases of cholera in Zimbabwe, that's 1600 more than the day before.
With no clean water, no sewer system and most hospitals closed down, around 400 people have already died.
Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, still locked in power sharing talks, called the outbreak 'the greatest threat ever to face our country.'
