President Bush calls an emergency meeting with Barack Obama and John McCain in a bid to push through a deal over the Wall Street rescue plan.

Bush has called an emergency meeting with the two men who are vying to succeed him in the White House in a bid to push through a deal over the Wall Street rescue plan.

The meeting, with Democrat candidate Barack Obama, his Republican rival John McCain and congressional leaders, comes after the president used a televised address to warn that there was little alternative to the $700 billion taxpayer bailout.
