75,000 Democrats await Barack Obama's presidential nomination acceptance
Updated on 28 August 2008
In just hours from now 75,000 people will gather to hear Barack Obama accept the Democratic party's nomination for presidency.
The road to this event has been highly charged, sometimes even poisonous. But last night here in Denver we witnessed one of the great political turnabouts of our time.
Hillary Clinton, so narrowly defeated for the nomination, casting her own state of New York's votes for Obama, and sealing the nomination.
And her husband Bill seizing the Democratic Party Convention by the frontal lobes and pledging an uncompromising effort to get Obama into the White House, declaring him the best man for the job.
Our Washington correspondent Sarah Smith heard the former president, and looks ahead to what Obama must do tonight to seize the moment.
Jon Snow talks to political pollster Frank Luntz.
