Fourteen British military personnel have been killed in an aircraft crash in Afghanistan, in what the Defence Secretary has called a "dreadful and shocking" accident.

NATO said the aircraft went down after developing technical problems, rejecting claims by the Taliban that they had shot it down.

The deaths bring to 21 the number of British troops who've been killed in action in Afghanistan in the last month. Sarah Lockett reports.
