Who knows who? Channel 4 reveals all

Channel 4 launches an interactive new website, Who Knows Who, which reveals the connections between politicians, celebrities and business leaders - showing where power really lies in the UK.

The Who Knows Who site opens by mapping the network of links between the former members of the notorious Bullingdon Club at Oxford University, featured in the More4 docu-drama When Boris Met Dave, which is being broadcast on Saturday on Channel 4 at 8pm.

The aim is to uncover new stories connecting other politicians in future updates. Drawing on information from third party sites such as mysociety.co.uk, the site will be regularly updated by the Channel 4 News and Current Affairs team with more stories about connections covering more politicians and organisations.

But its main aim is to build up a community of users, who can suggest relationships to investigate and share their knowledge of connections between Britain's movers and shakers.

Channel 4 New Media Commissioning Editor Vicky Taylor says: "Our ultimate goal is to build the biggest network of connections in the UK - we have currently mapped around 1,000 connections but we aim to multiply that many times over.

"By exposing the often surprising and revealing connections between the powerful elite, we will be able to hold them to account more closely."

Created by TUI Interactive Media, the interactive map visualises the connections in ways that allow users to explore where power lies and contribute, rate stories and comment on them.

When Boris Met Dave is on Channel 4 on Saturday 14th Nov at 8pm.
