Twinge: the start
Host Krishnan Guru-Murthy introduces the event. Key panellists included MEP Daniel Hannan, Peter Barron (Google) and MP Douglas Carswell.
Hannan vs Prescott
MEP Daniel Hannan retorts to some of John Prescott's tweeted questions and also alleges that the #welovetheNHS twitter campaign was a Labour campaign.
Watch our interview with the man who started the #welovetheNHS campaign, comedian Graham Linehan aka @glinner.
Iain Dale: 'Prescott doesn't tweet'
Political blogger Iain Dale takes pains to point out that in his belief John Prescott doesn't send any tweets.
"It's a complete fallacy to say there are Labour Cabinet ministers on Twitter because it's their special advisors that are doing it.
"Does anyone seriously think that was John Prescott sending in those tweets there? It's his son David that does it.
"Nobody should believe John Prescott does all this, he may dictate the odd bit for his son to do from time to time - but it is his son that does it."
Do too many twits make a tw*t?
MP Douglas Carswell reveals his feelings on why too many twits could make a tw*t.
Krishnan: "Douglas, what do you think the significance is of 'too many twits make a tw*t'?"
Douglas: "I think it highlights people like me are on Twitter, I don't think it's significant. [laughter]"
Just how many people use Twitter?
A tweet to the panel asks: "Only 20 per cent of young people vote. Isn't this a minority sport for people who can type on small machines?"
So Krishnan throws a question to the audience to find out just how many people in the audience actually use Twitter.
The results are surprising.
Guido Fawkes: 'Twitter is sh*t'
Political blogger Guido Fawkes makes a guest appearance to express his views on Twitter saying:
"I don't want to be the Gordon Gecko to this meeting but Twitter is sh*t.
"Is it some kind of 140 character placebo for democracy? I don't think so.
"Is Kerry going to win a single vote from twittering away to ten of her mates who are twitter fanatics? No."
He went on to say.
"It's the latest gimmick. This is the Friends Reunited of 2009.
"Facebook in the end will kill Twitter. Facebook will have all the Twitter functionality."
