Updated on 12 February 2008

By Victoria Macdonald

Boris Johnson has shocked MPs by launching an expletive-packed tirade on the chairman of the Home Affairs select committee.

The London Mayor let rip in a phone call to Keith Vaz after he appeared on television accusing Mr Johnson of being uncooperative and confused.

Mr Johnson thought the conversation was private but Mr Vaz was taking notes.

They have now been circulated to the entire select committee.
