That's the question tonight as pundits and politicians alike wonder if Gordon Brown will call a snap election.

So, the question on everyone's mind after David Cameron's conference speech is... will the Prime Minister 'Call That Election'?

Snap election?

A flurry of public spending announcements are expected in the next few days, which suggests Downing Street is preparing for a snap poll.

But it is how his opponent's performance today is receieved that seems to matter most.

We speak to Ken Clarke, Vince Cable and David Blunkett in our report.
